Sunflowers has announced via its official Web site that it has commissioned Related Designs to develop the next game in its Anno empire-building series (known as 1602 A.D. and 1503 A.D. in the US). Anno War, as its title suggests, will place more emphasis on combat than the previous games in the series, and it is currently scheduled for release toward the end of 2005.

　　"In Related Designs we've found the perfect partner for the ambitious goals we've set for Anno War," said Adi Boiko, president of Sunflowers. "Related Designs has already had a great deal of experience in developing strategy games. Now, for the first time, they can enjoy a large budget and Sunflowers' active support as they develop a triple-A title."

　　"We're extremely happy to have found a partner in Sunflowers, who have made it possible for us to truly fulfill our potential for the fist time ever," added Thomas Pottkamper, manager at Related Designs. "We are certain that the close cooperation with Sunflowers will allow us to develop an international top seller."
