STB's Velocity Gets a Boost-October 2024

  STB Systems has announced today that it is shipping an 8MB version of its Velocity 128 2D/3D accelerator card, utilizing nVidia's RIVA 128ZX chipset.

  The card supports AGP 2X, has a 250MHz RAMDAC, and offers extended resolutions up to 1920x1200 with 65,000 colors. The US version of the Velocity 128 8MB will also include the full versions of Battlezone, G-Police, and various other utility programs.

  "Its exceptional 2D performance, along with 3D acceleration that satisfies even the most avid gamer, makes it a standout in a market aimed towards home entertainment and business applications," said J. Shane Long, STB vice president of sales and marketing. "The 8MB Velocity 128 provides end users with even more memory and more impressive visual quality."

  "As evidenced by the award-winning STB Velocity 128, NVIDIA and STB have been successful in providing one of the best 3D graphics solutions for the mainstream PC user," said Jen-Hsun Huang, president and chief executive officer of NVIDIA Corp.

  STB's new Velocity 128 8MB should be available in stores next week at a retail price around US$149.
