Blizzard's Starcraft ousted last week's top-selling game, SimCity 3000, to take the number-one spot for the week of July 25, according to the latest figures from PC Data. Even though the game has been out for more than a year, recent sales of bundles and mission disks accounted for its jump. Electronic Arts' Need for Speed III experienced the same surge in sales and landed in sixth place this week, almost a year since it first came out.
For the most part, however, the list has remained largely intact these past few weeks. Red Storm's Rainbow Six Gold, Hasbro's Roller Coaster Tycoon, and LucaArts' Phantom Menace continue to dominate the sales charts alongside Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2, Aliens vs. Predator, and Total Annihilation: Kingdoms, all of which have been on the list all summer long.
The list, in its entirety, is as follows:
Rank / Title / Publisher / Price1 / Starcraft / Havas Interactive / $362 / MP Roller Coaster Tycoon / Hasbro Interactive / $293 / Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Gold Edition Red Storm Ent. / $304 / SimCity 3000 / Electronic Arts / $415 / Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2 / Activision / $196 / Need For Speed 3 / Electronic Arts / $197 / Star Wars Episode 1: Phantom Menace / LucasArts / $448 / Microsoft Flight Simulator / Microsoft / $479 / Aliens vs. Predator / Fox Interactive / $3810 / Total Annihilation: Kingdoms / GT Interactive / $47
