"Rogue Squadron, that definitely is something that we still talk about," Kennedy said. "Whether it's a movie, or whether it ends up being in the series space, that's definitely something.
Rogue Squadron was announced back in 2020 with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins set to direct. It was slated for a December 22, 2023 release, however, Lucasfilm quietly removed the film from its production schedule in November 2021. It was later confirmed that both Jenkin's and Kevin Feige's Star Wars films had been shelved and were no longer in active development.
During the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase, three new Star Wars films were announced from directors James Mangold, Dave Filoni, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Obaid-Chinoy's film will see the return of Daisy Ridley as Jedi Master Rey 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker. This movie will be set during the era of the New Jedi Order.
