The results of a new Star Wars survey are in, and they show that 63 percent of respondents think Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens will be the best movie in the series ever. On the flip side, 37 percent of people said they believe The Force Awakens won't be better than the six previous films.
This survey, from Harris Interactive and conducted September 14-16, was reported on by Variety. It also reveals that only 15 percent of fans said director J.J. Abrams' involvement with the project is the reason they're excited for the film.
Instead, the biggest reason why Star Wars fans say they can't wait to see the movie (36 percent), according to the poll, is that they expect it to have "more advanced CGI" effects. Following that, 25 percent said they thought the movie will have a "more interesting story" than past films, while another 25 percent reported that they believe it will be "more true to the Star Wars series."
Finally, 14 percent said they had high hopes for The Force Awakens due to its "better cast" compared to previous entries in the blockbuster sci-fi film series.
The study also reveals that 7 percent of respondents said they would trip an elderly person to get their hands on rare Star Wars merchandise, if it came to that. See the full results of the study at Variety. Harris polled 2,031 people in the US aged 18 and older for this study; 801 described themselves as Star Wars fans.
The Force Awakens opens in theaters on December 18--or December 17 if you live in the UK.
