Square Enix, publisher of the Final Fantasy games, today announced that Daishiro Okada has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Square Enix, Inc., the North American branch of the Japanese game publisher. Okada was previously senior executive at the company's Japanese branch since joining Square in January. According to Square Enix president Yoichi Wada, the move was designed to help expand Square's efforts in the US. Ichiro Otobe, the previous president and COO of Square's North American division, will move on to new responsibilities at the company's headquarters in Tokyo.
