  Ubi Soft has today announced that the PC version of Splinter Cell in development at the company's Montreal Studio is finished. The third-person action game, which was originally released for the Xbox last November, sees players assuming the role of a special operative named Sam Fisher who is charged with single-handedly saving the world from cyberterrorists.

  Despite the fact that development on Splinter Cell is now finished, Ubi Soft has not announced an exact release date for the game. The minimum and recommended system requirements for the game were released today, though, and are as follows--

  Minimum System Requirements

  Windows 98/ME/2000/XP

  800MHz Pentium III or AMD Athlon processor

  256MB of RAM

  32MB video card

  DirectX 8.1-compatible sound card

  DirectX 8.1

  8x speed CD/DVD drive

  950MB-1.5GB on hard drive Recommended System Requirements

  Windows 98/ME/2000/XP

  1000MHz Pentium III or AMD Athlon processor

  256MB of RAM

  64MB video card

  DirectX 8.1-compatible sound card with surround system

  DirectX 8.1

  8x speed or higher CD/DVD drive

  1.5GB-2.1GB on hard drive
