Upcoming role-playing game South Park: The Stick of Truth won't require Uplay, developer Obsidian Entertainment has confirmed.
Instead of opting for Uplay, Ubisoft's digital platform, the game will instead make full use of Valve's Steamworks, meaning the oft-delayed RPG will be fully integrated into Steam.
"No, Uplay will not be featured in SP:SOT," Obsidian confirmed on Twitter. "It's a Steam game, with Steam achievements, etc," the developer later added.
The Steam versions of some of Ubisoft's other titles, such as Splinter Cell: Blacklist, still require users to boot into the PC Uplay application and launch the game from there.
South Park: The Stick of Truth is currently pegged for a March 4 release date on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, though there's still just enough time for it to be delayed again.
Meanwhile, Respawn Entertainment confirmed last night that the PC version of its anticipated shooter Titanfall would require Origin.
