Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has announced that it will be releasing a PS2-compatible arcade board starting this spring in Japan. The PS2-compatible arcade board will be distributed to software companies for developing and publishing new arcade titles. Software companies that have already signed up are SNK, Capcom, Konami, Jaleco, Hudson, and Tecmo.
With the arcade market continuing to shrink in Japan, hopefully the new PlayStation2-compatible arcade board will shed some light on the market in the near future.
