Nikkei Online reports that Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) is recalling 1.25 million copies of its PS2 Utility Disc. Version 1.00 of the DVD driver for the Sony PlayStation2 allows you to view DVD movies coded for other regions not intended to play Japanese DVDs. Beginning April 1, users can either return the Utility Disc by mail or exchange them at Japanese convenient stores. Future shipments of the PS2 will include the new version of the driver, which will prevent PlayStation2 owners from viewing DVDs from other regions of the world.
