Analysts are predicting that Sony Corp's group operating profit for the fourth quarter of 1997 will rise nearly 20 percent from the same period last year, helped by the weak yen and strong sales of the PlayStation and box-office returns.
Sony will announce its earnings for the third quarter of 97/98 on Thursday. Wednesday, SCEA will announce the holiday sales of its PlayStation console and games.
