Sony starts a new generation of gaming in a few weeks, and to get the word out on the PlayStation 5 the company has launched a global advertising campaign. Narrated by rapper Travis Scott, the advert focuses on the idea of exploration and telling the stories that come from venturing into unknown territory.
"There is a desire in all of us to explore and discover new possibilities, whether it's in gaming, or in our everyday lives," Eric Lempel, Senior Vice President for PlayStation Worldwide Marketing, said in a PS Blog post. "We all want to go to places we've never been, see what's never been seen. We tell the story by paying homage to explorers of the past who stood on the threshold of the unknown and pushed past their limits to achieve the extraordinary."
Microsoft also debuted its own console-hyping trailer for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S several weeks ago, recruiting Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya for the console's launch video and focusing on giving power to your dreams.
The PS5 launches on November 12 with games such as Demon's Souls, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure, titles which have their own elements of exploration that players can experience.
