　　San Diego Comic-Con 2014 will be held this weekend, July 24th-27th, and Nintendo has decided to use the event to give fans an early taste of Smash Bros. on 3DS. Even those who aren't able to enter the tournament (which is on a first-come, first-served basis) may get a chance to play the demo through the magic of Twitter.

　　The tournament will be similar in format to the E3 Invitational, beginning with Free-For-Alls and finishing with a dramatic 1-on-1. The fan favorite commentary team of Kris 'Toph' Aldenderfer and Bobby 'Scar' Scarnewman will be casting the event. It will all be streamed live on Nintendo's Official Twitch.tv channel on Friday, July 25th, starting at 11:30 AM PST/2:30 PM EST.

　　In addition to fan sign-ups, a few famous Smash players have already been confirmed. Here's a partial list (which will be updated if and when more information arrives):

　　Joey 'Lucky' AldamaWeston 'Westballz' DennisHugo 'HugS' GonzalezDaniel 'Tafokints' LeeInterestingly, HugS is the only player so far who also took part in the E3 Invitational, showing that Nintendo is looking for a wider representation of the Smash Bros. community rather than just sticking with the same people they chose before. And since this event is held in California, one can make educated guesses about some of the other big names that might be in attendance (Ken 'Ken' Hoang? Kevin 'PewPewU' Toy? DaJuan 'Shroomed' Jefferson?).

　　As a bonus, Nintendo is holding a Twitter contest for Comic-Con attendees. The reward: a chance to spend some time with a playable demo of Smash 3DS. Anyone who takes a picture of themselves at the convention and tweets with #BringMeSmash may receive a direct message inviting them to try out the demo.
