Word.com, the site that the New York Times described as "a kind of hip, lo-fi New Yorker magazine for a new generation," has announced its new online multiplayer Shockwave game, Sissyfight 2000.
Described by Word.com as "an intensely social multiplayer online game with a twisted sense of humor," Sissyfight 2000 will place players in the role of a willful schoolgirl embroiled in a fierce social battle of schoolyard intrigue. Three to six players can play simultaneously and form rivalries and friendships among themselves by means of defensive actions, such as cowering or lollypop-licking, or offensive maneuvers, such as grabbing, scratching, tattling, and teasing, until everyone but the winner is reduced to a blubbering wretch.
Though the game is currently in beta test, players eager to relive the trauma of their schoolyard days can begin to do so February 25, when the game is scheduled for a full release.
