Season 2 of Shudder's hit horror show Creepshow might have been delayed, but that doesn't mean 2020 has been without some anthology scares. Following Halloween's animated Creepshow special, a new holiday special hits the service next week, and the trailer has been released.
A Creepshow Holiday Special features a single hour-long episode, titled "Shapeshifters Anonymous," written and directed by showrunner Greg Nicotero. It focuses on a man who believes he transforms into a terrifying murderous creature at night and joins a support group for people with similar shapeshifting afflictions. But they haven't counted on Santa and his gun-toting gang who want to put a stop to the group. The trailer is every but as weird and funny as that description, and it looks like a must-watch for horror fans this Christmas. Check it out below:
A Creepshow Holiday Special stars Adam Pally (The Mindy Project) and Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), and it's based on a short story by J.A. Konrath (Last Call). It hits Shudder on December 18.
In a statement, Nicotero said, "The Spirit of Christmas is alive and well in true Creepshow fashion. Reimagining how we look at the holidays and Santa Claus with an outrageous ensemble cast, a myriad of creepy crawlies and a few thrills and chills shouldn't be missed."
Creepshow Season 2 was originally set to start production earlier this year but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nicotero revealed in June that the downtime had allowed him to make a start on stories for Season 3.
