Microsoft hasn’t been lying about the power of the upcoming Xbox Scorpio, according to Shadow of War developer, Monolith Productions.

　　The Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor sequel was officially announced by publisher Warner Bros. last month. Shadow of War is the first officially confirmed Xbox Scorpio game, and as covered earlier, the game will be marketed by Microsoft. According to the game’s director, the game is going to look absolutely great in 4K and HDR on Xbox Scorpio, and now Monolith’s studio head, Kevin Stephens, has chimed on how Microsoft hasn’t been lying about the console’s power.

　　In a new interview with GamesRadar, the studio head commented on the Scorpio’s hardware and the collaboration with Microsoft in general.

　　The Scorpio will be the “most powerful console ever created” when it launches, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer proclaimed following its announcement last year, and Stephens seconded that.

　　"We've found nothing false about their claims about the hardware. As far as we can tell, it will be the most powerful console ever created when it launches - unless somebody has an announcement I don't know about”, the studio head told GamesRadar.

　　"I can't speak for Microsoft, but from our point of view they seem very committed to, you know, if you buy an Xbox One, whether it's a One, or an S, or a Scorpio you're going to buy a game and [be able to] play it on any of them. That seems very consistent with our experience of working on those platforms."

　　The exact specifications of the Xbox Scorpio are unknown at this point, but Microsoft will most likely use this year’s E3 event to fully unveil the enhanced Xbox One console.

　　The Xbox Scorpio is slated for a release later this year. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will release this August.
