It's been a while in coming, but finally information and pictures have been made public of Sega's secret Saturn game. Sonic Team's new project is called Burning Rangers, and was shown to members of the American gaming press at Sega's Gamer's Day.

　　Now, just a day before the Tokyo Game Show kicks off, Sega has posted information on its Japanese web site and, more importantly, a movie of the game for all to see. Saturn owners are definitely in for a treat as Sega's Yuji Naka-san and company have once again brought their skills to play and made what looks like a fantastic game.

　　The story follows the special fire rescue team, appropriately called the Burning Rangers. The Burning Rangers are made up of five specially trained rescuers: Sho Amabane, Reed Phoenix, Teiris, Big Randman, and Kris Baton. They range in age from 19 (Teiris) to 35 (Big), and each has special abilities.

　　The game is set in a 3-D world, and takes place in various buildings where fires are breaking out. Your job is to navigate the many halls and rooms and rescue civilians from danger.

　　The Rangers have special abilities and can run fast and jump over obstacles in their way by employing a double-jump. Since you control one ranger, you carry along with you a special navigation system, which gives you directions as to where you should head next.

　　Burning Rangers has a winter '97 release date in Japan. GS News contacted a Sega of America representative Thursday who said that it has yet to finalize a US release date.
