Sega Enterprises announced Wednesday that it will open a virtual store on the Internet. The store will be located on its site and should be operational by the middle of May.
The company has allied itself with Shochiku, a movie distributor in Japan, to offer 50 products from CD-ROMs, videos, DVDs, and phone cards. Sega is expected to sign up with ten more entertainment companies to offer products through the service.
Customers will be able to view the catalog on Sega's Japanese web site and place orders over the Internet and receive them within about two weeks. Unfortunately, the site doesn't handle international orders at this time.
