GameSpot News conducted an informal survey yesterday of retailers nationwide and in Canada and found no solid evidence of any change in the level of retail sales for the Sega Dreamcast since the recent price drop to US$149.95. Today, Charles Bellfield, director of communications at Sega of America, commented.
"Response from all our retail partners has been overwhelming. Having spoken to the buyers, they are seeing a dramatic increase in Dreamcast sales - in the region of six to ten times the previous week. Their orders for holiday 2000 also reflect this increased outlook for Sega, resulting from the new price point, aggressive marketing plans and stellar new content."
