Last year, Sega breathed new life into one of its arcade light gun shooter franchises with House of the Dead: Overkill on the Wii. The publisher today revealed plans to revisit two more of its arcade light gun efforts on Nintendo's system this fall in the form of the Gunblade NY and LA Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack.
Sega lets Wii gamers save Los Angeles, assuming they think it's worth saving. While Overkill was an all-new installment in the horror-themed light gun series, the Arcade Hits Pack will be closer to straight ports of the original 1996 Gunblade NY and its 1999 follow-up LA Machineguns: Rage of the Machines. Sega is including a handful of new features, however, including a revamped chain combo scoring system and unlockable weapon features like rapid-fire or wide-shot options.
Both games give players helicopter-mounted machineguns with which to protect the United States from android invasions. In addition to the familiar locales suggested by the two games' titles, Gunblade NY and LA Machineguns will see players rain down a hail of bullets in Las Vegas, Yosemite National Park, and on Alcatraz Island.
