Sega Announced New President, COO Peter Moore-November 2024
Nov 16, 2024 1:43 PM

Sega announced today that it has promoted Peter Moore, the company's senior vice president of marketing, to the position of president and chief operating officer, effective immediately. According to Sega, Moore was integral to the success of last September's Dreamcast launch, which lead to an installed base of more than two million Dreamcasts throughout North America. The launch also earned Sega 15 percent of the total North American gaming-industry market share.

In his new role, Moore is now responsible for Sega's console and online gaming business, including product and business development, marketing, sales, operations, and game content.

Moore told GameSpot News that he credits the accolades he had received from the launch of the Dreamcast for taking him to the top of Sega. Shoichiro Irimajiri, President of Sega Enterprises Ltd. declared that " impeccable leadership skills... we knew there was no better candidate for the job."

Peter Moore replaces Toshiro Kezuka as chief operating officer of Sega of America Dreamcast. "Kezuka has moved back to Japan and will continue in his efforts of making Sega a more global company," Sega of America's director of communications Charles Bellfield informed GameSpot News. "Isao Okawa, president of CSK, Sega's parent company, has assumed the position of chairman of Sega of America Dreamcast, and Peter Moore will directly answer to him."

Moore previously served as president of Patrick USA, the US subsidiary of a popular French sportswear company.
