Now Playing: Sand Land Reveal Trailer | Summer Game Fest 2023
The art style is very similar to previous Dragon Ball games; the comic-book aesthetic and wide-open areas almost mimic that of the Borderlands games, too.
The player takes the role of the Fiend Prince, Beelzebub, who must set off on an adventure "using [their] wits, brawn, and vehicles to save Sand Land." The trailer also shows off the protagonist exploring the world of Sand Land "where humans and demons live together," taking on enemies in their mech suit and tank, overcoming obstacles, and interacting with NPCs.
Sand Land is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama, which was published as part of Weekly Shonen Jump in 2000. Bandai Namco's upcoming adaptation will most likely be faithful to the original source material, similar to the Dragon Ball games.
An official release date has yet to be announced.
