According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Sammy and Sega have decided not to pursue their plans for a merger. The two companies failed to agree on a stock merger ration as well as several other details. Sammy and Sega will hold board meetings this week to officially make a decision about the merger and then make a formal announcement at a later date. The merger offer from Namco is still currently being considered by Sega, though Namco gave Sega a May 9 deadline to decide.
