After a lengthy delay, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is finally ready to fly on consoles. Once slated for release in February, the Xbox 360 edition of the PC action role-playing game has gone gold and is ready for a May 12 debut, publisher cdv Software Entertainment announced today. A representative with the publisher told GameSpot that the PlayStation 3 edition of the game is not yet finished but remains on target for a simultaneous launch with its 360 counterpart.
Magic! Developed by Ascaron Entertainment, Sacred 2 is an epic-scale fantasy role-playing game in which players undertake the path of a soldier of light or dark, exploring the lands of Ancaria 2,000 years before the events of the 2004 original. The German developer promises more than 22 square miles of in-game terrain that can be explored, as well as more than 200 dungeons and 650 quests. The game also features local split-screen and online cooperative play
Earlier this month, the game's European distributor, Deep Silver, previously declared both the Xbox 360 and PS3 editions of the game as having gone gold and dated both versions for a June 5 launch.
