Professional athletes only drink root beer.
This week's offering for Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays is a hump-day happy hour, as Root Beer Tapper is sliding across the bar and onto Xbox 360s. The game is set to premiere on February 7 at 1 a.m. PST for 400 Microsoft points ($5).
In the game, players assume the role of a bartender in a number of watering holes patronized by punk rockers, cowboys, and even aliens. Gamers must keep their customers happy by making sure their mugs are full. More points can be earned through tips, and two players can team up or go head-to-head in cooperative and versus modes locally or over Xbox Live.
Root Beer Tapper was released by Bally Midway in 1984 after the original, Tapper, included branding from beer-purveyor Budweiser and was seen as an advertisement for booze to minors.
Root Beer Tapper is rated E for Everyone and is the first of the new wave of Xbox Live Arcade games recently announced.
