Following the conclusion of the first beta test for RollerCoaster Tycoon World, Atari and developer Nvizzio have announced the game's release is being pushed back until early next year.
Following a previous delay to allow for its graphics to be improved, World had been set for release on December 10. Players are again at least partially responsible for this latest delay, as beta feedback "got [the developer] thinking about all the other ways [it] could push the franchise forward with some additional time."
In a blog post, Nvizzio highlighted four features in particular that it plans to either add or improve: the ability to use predefined lines and curves when building coasters, more feedback on coaster design, an enhanced fence-placing tool, and a better grid system. Bugs and other issues will be resolved to get the game running smoother, and the likelihood of coasters flying off the tracks (a RollerCoaster Tycoon staple) will be lowered.
The company also noted that there are other suggestions, such as better path placement, that it's considering. However, it's the four improvements above that are considered "the key items."
A second beta had been scheduled to take place before the game's December 10 launch. With the release now further out, this test is being pushed back until sometime in December. Unless plans have changed--and there's no indication they have--you'll still need to have preordered the game in order to gain access.
