LucasArts has announced that its upcoming Nintendo GameCube game Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II will incorporate Dolby Laboratories' Pro Logic II surround sound technology. It is one of the first games to support Dolby Pro Logic II, which is being implemented using proprietary five-channel encoding technology created by the game's developer, Factor 5. Rogue Leader II will feature a wide variety of authentic sound effects and voices from the original Star Wars films. Dennis Lawson, the actor who played Wedge Antilles, is providing extensive voice work for the game. Rogue Leader II will also feature actual voice tracks from the movie from such characters as Harrison Ford's Han Solo.
Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II is currently on schedule to be released alongside the launch of the GameCube console.
