Rocket League's Next DLC Revealed, Here's What It Adds-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 5:30 PM

Psyonix has announced the next DLC for its soccer-with-cars game, Rocket League. Revenge of the Battle-Cars is inspired by Psyonix's Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars (try to say that 10 times fast), the predecessor to Rocket League that didn't get as much attention.

Revenge of the Battle-Cars adds new cars, wheels, rocket boosts, toppers, antennas, paint types, and more, all of which take inspiration from SARPBC. Watch a trailer for the DLC below, while a full breakdown of everything included with the DLC is available at the bottom of this post.

Revenge of the Battle-Cars launches sometime in October on PlayStation 4 and PC (a specific release date was not announced), and even if you don't buy it, you'll still get new stuff. Available with the DLC update for free to all players will be two new variations of the game's maps. These include a night version of Urban Station and a dusk edition of Utopia Coliseum.

Psyonix's Jeremy Dunham teased in a PlayStation Blog post that these will be the last of Rocket League's "regulation-style" maps for a long time. Looking ahead, players can expect "more unusual layouts and settings," he said, noting that further details will come later this year.

This follows comments from Psyonix boss Dave Hagewood, who said in August 2015 that Rocket League would add "crazy different maps" in the future.

Also arriving through the DLC update will be other free extras, including more music, community and country flags, as well as the regular optimizations and tweaks.

In other recent Rocket League news, a movie, TV show, and toy line based on the series are all being considered. You can also watch this funny video in which real-world soccer commentators go bananas for Rocket League goals.
