Point Blank Development founders Christofer Sundberg and Linus Blomberg have announced the formation of Rock Solid Studios, a new game development company based in Stockholm. The company is currently developing unannounced games for the PC and the Microsoft Xbox. An official announcement about the upcoming games is expected this summer.

　　Point Blank Development was formed in October when Paradox Entertainment split into two companies. The studio was formed to focus on the development of games based on Paradox Entertainment's proprietary Valpurgius 3D technology, which was being used to develop the tactical action game Warzone Online . Paradox recently announced that it had put the development of Warzone Online on hold.

　　According to Sundberg, Rock Solid Studios owns a major stake of shares in Point Blank Development, and the two companies will be integrated this summer. Neither company is currently using the Valpurgius technology, and Rock Solid is developing a more advanced game engine that will run on multiple platforms. Rock Solid hopes to demonstrate the new technology at ECTS or possibly earlier.
