Sega of America has confirmed the North American release of its PlayStation 2 shooter Rez. The game will be released in that territory in January of next year. The game, which was conceived by United Game Artists' president and Space Channel 5 creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi, combines both shooter and music elements into a unique gameplay package. In Rez, players must rescue an AI life-form known as Eden by blasting a variety of harmful creatures in cyberspace. The ultimate goal is to take control of the network and its music.
Sega will not release the Dreamcast version of Rez in North America.
