Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will look "slightly" better on the PlayStation 4, according to the March issue of Game Informer magazine and series creator Hideo Kojima.
The latest issue of the US gaming magazine (via VideoGamer) praises Ground Zeroes' visuals in a hands-on preview, specifically mentioning the physics and lighting of the new Fox Engine, but the article also points out that both the author and Kojima himself think the PlayStation 4 version of the game looks "slightly better" overall.
The article also points out that players can complete Ground Zeroes, a prequel for The Phantom Pain, in about two hours.
Konami is yet to confirm whether there is a resolution or frame rate difference between the Xbox One and PlayStation versions of the next Metal Gear Solid chapter, so fans might have to wait until copies are out in the wild to find out what exactly makes the PS4 version visually preferable.
The info has the potential to be another blow for Microsoft's latest console, which has repeatedly observed multiple third-party titles--such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, and Battlefield 4--perform worse on its new machine.
Earlier this week, PlayStation UK MD Fergal Gara told GameSpot that the PlayStation 4 can boast better performance right now because Sony has made the machine that developers want.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes launches on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on March 18.
