Capcom announced that it had broken an industry record by having an unprecedented three million units of Resident Evil 2 sell through in only six weeks.
"Demand for Resident Evil 2 continues to be strong, and it isn't showing any signs of letting up anytime soon," said Robert Lindsey, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Capcom Entertainment, in a statement. "Our sights are set on selling two million units in the US. Now the only question is how quickly we will achieve that goal."
In the US, RE2 sales have accounted for more than a million units since the title's release on January 21. In Japan, it has sold more than 1.9 million units since January 29.
