TOKYO - Tsutaya, a video rental store in Japan announced that it will offer Zelda 64 as a rental for its customers. Starting December 27, Tsutaya will rent cartridges of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with a Nintendo 64 console for two days for a thousand yen (about US$12) in a limited number of stores.
This comes as a big surprised to the Japanese gaming community, because there are no video game rentals in Japan. If someone started a game rental business, he'd be sued by game companies immediately. But this time, Tsutaya doesn't have to worry about that, as this offer is supported by Nintendo. This is surely proof that Nintendo is very serious about energizing the N64 market in Japan.
