Nintendo is focused on meeting the demand for the highly popular Nintendo Switch this holiday season.

　　That’s what Nintendo of America president and chief operating officer, Reggie Fils-Aime, said during Variety’s Entertainment and Technology Summit in Los Angeles. Nintendo is currently on course to sell 10 million Switch platforms during its current fiscal year, but whether the company will be able to supply all of its customers, remains to be seen.

　　“Certainly the demand is there, and our supply chain is there” the Nintendo executive said. “Are we going to have enough for the holiday? That’s what we are focused on.”

　　Nintendo has been having a hard time meeting Switch demand ever since the platform’s launch this March. To meet unexpected high demand after its release, Nintendo initially carried Switch units by plane. The hybrid platform has been selling out instantly at major retailers.

　　Nintendo has promised to “ramp up” production on the Switch to meet demand during this year’s holiday period. "We're doing everything we can to make sure everyone who wants to buy a Nintendo Switch system can do so," Nintendo told The Wall Street Journal. "We will ramp up production for the holiday period, which has been factored into our forecast."

　　The Switch was released globally back in March of this year, and within its first four months, the platform sold 4.7 million units.
