Quite Shagadelic, Baby!
Quite Shagadelic, Baby!-January 2024

Sierra Attractions and Berkeley Systems are set to ship Austin Powers: Operation Trivia to stores nationwide this week. The game follows the same quiz-show model set by Berkeley's extremely popular You Don't Know Jack series, and tests players' knowledge of '60s, '70s, '80s and '90s pop-culture topics like television, music, and movies.

Sierra was showcasing Operation Trivia at its E3 booth this year, and we had a chance to take the game for a quick test drive. As expected, the whole game has a very 1960s feel to it, with pastel colors, flower petals, and psychedelic swirls adorning the majority of the layout. Unlike the sharp and witty announcer from You Don't Know Jack, Operation Trivia is voiced by either Dr. Evil or Austin Powers himself, depending on which mode players select. While Mike Myers actually does do some voice acting, an impersonator voices the majority of the Evil/Powers characters. The questions themselves range in difficulty, although we didn't find any real difficult head scratchers when we fiddled with it.

Austin Powers: Operation Trivia should start arriving in stores later this week for around US$29.95 on both Macintosh and Windows platforms. Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me will open in theatres on June 11.
