PurpleDrop, an interactive media company founded by Ashok Desai, former Asia Pacific director of Silicon Graphics, announced today that it has signed a licensing agreement with Sony to supply content for the PlayStation and PlayStation 2. PurpleDrop will supply R&D on demand, 2D and 3D animation, and CGI and SFX for interactive entertainment and film. PurpleDrop's goal is to become an all-encompassing resource for graphical development.
"Driven by the opportunity to participate in the $9 billion worldwide gaming industry, as well as the $40 billion entertainment industry, we are convinced that our combination of products, services, and technologies will enable PurpleDrop to provide complete content solutions to the US market as well as internationally," Desai stated.
