Rock historians have never agreed on which of these duos was the absolute personification of rock, the height of the medium, the ayatollah of rock and rollah. Today D3Publisher of America (D3PA) might have tipped the scales with the announcement that the stars of Cartoon Network's Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi are getting their own Nintendo DS game early next year.

　　No other rock duo can claim to have a game based on their exploits, save for Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, who were indeed featured in Acclaim's arcade shooter Revolution X but are technically disqualified from any debates about legendary rock duos as a result of the entire post-Pump Aerosmith catalog.

　　Described by D3PA as a "rock 'n' roll brawler," Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi lets players join the band, traveling around the world fighting evil using only their instruments (a virtual guitar on the DS touch screen). Targeted at kids ages 6 to 11, the game also features a two-player Wi-Fi cooperative mode.

　　Before hitting the DS, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi will warm up with a stint on the more intimate Game Boy Advance in Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: Kaznapped, which should be released before the end of the year.
