TOKYO - Taito held a press conference last Sunday to announce the release of Psychic Force 2 for the PlayStation. The latest addition to the Psychic Force fighing series was released for the Dreamcast last March in Japan.

　　PF2 features a 360-degree battlefield, which Taito calls All Range Battle and is based on the arcade version (not the Dreamcast version) of Psychic Force 2012. PF2 is also the sequel to Psychic Force for the PlayStation rather than a sequel to the Dreamcast version. This may make Dreamcast owners upset because PF2 has many elements that the Dreamcast version doesn't have.

　　PF2 has three characters, Keith, Wong, and Burn, all of whom appeared in PF1 but disappeared in PF2012. PF2 will also have anime opening sequences, which were not included in the Dreamcast version. The game also features psy-expand mode. You can take away other characters' finishing moves and use them yourself. Although complete details regarding the game have not been released, the game is compatible with the Sony PocketStation.

　　Psychic Force 2 for PlayStation is slated for a summer release in Japan.
