Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has announced that it would begin sales and distribution of network hardware for the Sony PlayStation2. SCE plans to sell games through its online network with the use of a cable modem and a hard drive that can be purchased separately. The hard drive will hold a capacity of 25GB.
SCE will offer the online service as well as the release the PS2 network hardware starting in 2001.
