During Wednesday's Pokemon Presents video presentation, The Pokemon Company announced new features coming to Pokemon Go. The first is the addition of Galarian Farfetch'd, which commemorates the launch of Pokemon Sword and Shield's Isle of Armor DLC, while the second is the upcoming arrival of Mega Evolution. It's a much-anticipated feature that first found its way into the series with Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.
Farfetch'd will be familiar to Pokemon players, as the Asia-exclusive Pokemon could be hard to come by for some. Galarian Farfetch'd, the special sword- and shield-bearing version of the first-generation bird, is now available in Pokemon Go for all players. You'll also be able to receive special avatar items as part of the Isle of Armor celebration, including a Farfetch'd hat and Isle of Armor-themed clothing.
Additionally, Pokemon Go is getting its own interpretation of Mega Evolution. The Pokemon Company states that Mega-Evolved Pokemon "will appear in the real world in Pokemon Go" and that players can expect to see "a new take on Mega Evolution that takes advantage of Pokemon Go's unique gameplay."
