Sony has announced that PlayStation 4 system update 7.0 will be released globally this week.
As covered earlier, the new firmware update will offer updated party features, including 16-player parties, chat transcription and improved audio quality. In addition, the improved back-end also improves network connectivity which should resolve most of the connectivity issues when connecting with other players. The update will also pack system level HDR tuning.
PlayStation 4 system update 7.0 also packs new ways to remotely play on mobile devices and the update allows players to use Remote Play on smartphones and tablets running on Android 5.0 and up. “Meanwhile, for iPhone or iPad users, the Remote Play App has been updated so you can now display the controller at all times and lock the screen orientation”, Sony writes.
Last but not least, Dualshock 4 wireless controllers via Bluetooth are now supported for Remote Play on an Android, iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
