Beginning September 25 (that's tomorrow), ArenaNet is letting anyone play its MMO Guild Wars 2 free for a period of one week. The free trial kicks off tomorrow at 12 AM PDT and ends at 11:59 PM PDT on October 1.
You can create a free Guild Wars 2 trial account today at the game's website so you can jump right into the mix late tonight, or early tomorrow, depending on how you look at it.
ArenaNet says in a post on its website that if you participated in any earlier Guild Wars 2 free trial, your account will also be eligible for the upcoming free week of game time.
Guild Wars 2 launched in August 2012 and had sold over 3.5 million copies as of August 2013. A report from DFC Intelligence claims Guild Wars 2 is the fastest-selling Western MMO of all time.
Unlike the king of the category, the subscription-based MMO World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2 is a pay-once game. Of course, you can spend buy virtual items with real-world money, but the game does not require a monthly subscription.
