"Get ready to soil your plants."
That's the tagline from a new teaser video released today for the next Plants vs. Zombies game, which is expected to be a sequel to last year's wacky, team-based shooter Garden Warfare.
The teaser video below also reveals that the "exclusive worldwide reveal" of this new game will be made during Microsoft's Xbox briefing at E3 next week, on Monday, June 15.

The new Plants vs. Zombies game was announced during an Electronic Arts earnings presentation back in May. "After Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare became a sensation last year with console players young and old, we'll be returning to the Plants vs. Zombies universe with a bigger and bolder new console experience," EA CEO Andrew Wilson said at the time.
The game is scheduled to launch during EA's fourth fiscal quarter, which translates to the period running January 1-March 31, 2016. The game is coming to PC and console, though a full list of platforms have not been announced.
The original Garden Warfare was released first on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, before later shipping for PC and PlayStation consoles. GameSpot scored the game a 7/10.
"While the unlockables fit right in with the whimsical spirit of the Plants vs. Zombies franchise, you're left feeling like Garden Warfare needed a little something more to make it a meal rather than a side salad," reviewer Carolyn Petit wrote. "Still, it's that rare shooter whose world and characters might put a smile on your face, making it a refreshing entry in a genre that usually takes itself really seriously."
