Interplay's Black Isle Studios has announced that its latest RPG game, Planescape: Torment, based on the popular Advanced Dungeons & Dragons license, has been released to retailers nationwide. The title represents the first computer game based on the AD&D Planescape campaign and uses the same BioWare Infinity Engine known best for powering Baldur's Gate.
The complete game features a new user interface with floating text, a pop-up quick-key system, and more than 80 spells. Players enter Torment as a character suffering from amnesia who must find his identity and destiny.
So far, reactions to the game around the GameSpot offices have been positive. A review of the game is expected shortly.
Interplay's Planescape: Torment sells for about US$49.99.
