The highly anticipated PS4 exclusive Persona 5 Royal launches for PS4 later this year in Japan, but Westerners need to wait until next year. Fortunately, we now have a new trailer to tide us over that showcases some never-before-seen aspects of the game.
The video reveals the game's English voice cast. The fan favorite Phantom Thieves return from Persona 5, plus the voices behind the game's two new central characters have been revealed. They are Laura Post (Octopath Traveller, The Evil Within), who stars as talented gymnast and new playable party member Kasumi Yoshizawa, and Billy Kametz (3%, Marvel Avengers Academy), who plays Shujin Academy's counselor and new confidant, Takuto Maruki. Now Playing: Persona 5 Royal - English Release Trailer | E3 2019
Aside from the new characters, Royal differs from the original game by adding a third semester in the storyline along with extra events. There will also be new story beats towards the end of the game to help flesh out the conclusion.
This trailer comes not long after another one, which showcased Kasumi in battle, as well as her awakening and more. Much like Persona 4 Golden, this looks to be a significant expansion on the base version of Persona 5.
Persona 5 Royal launches exclusively for PlayStation 4 in Japan on October 31, 2019 while the West will have to wait until sometime in 2020. For more on the game, check out our in-depth breakdown of the full Persona 5 Royal trailer that was revealed earlier this year.
