Penny Arcade hits start on Child's Play-September 2024
Sep 23, 2024 12:29 AM

It's no easy task to be utterly depraved and obscenely altruistic simultaneously, but Penny Arcade webcomic creators Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik embody that feat each year with their annual charity event Child's Play. Since 2003, the organization has channeled well over $2 million in donations of cash, games, and books to children's hospitals across the globe.

Event organizers have announced that Child's Play 2007 is now underway and accepting donations. This year, the charity has expanded to include 45 hospitals in 25 states and five countries. For more on the fundraiser or to donate, head over to the official Child's Play official Web site.

By way of online retailer Amazon, gamers can have games or books sent directly to their hospital of choice. For those who'd rather go the gift-card route, Child's Play also accepts cash donations via PayPal. Child's Play organizers have also announced that the annual fund-raising dinner auction will take place December 11 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle, Washington. Last year, the Child's Play charity dinner raised more than $200,000, with auctions including a cameo in a PA comic strip and a tour of Bungie Studios with a voice-acting line in Halo 3.
