TOKYO - The new Sony PocketStation PDA will be shown publicly for the first time at the Tokyo Game Show (which begins tomorrow). However, we've discovered two PocketStation-compatible titles set for release around the time the device reaches shelves in Japan.
The first and strangest use of the PDA is with Street Fighter Zero 3 (or Street Fighter Alpha 3 in the US). There are two ways to use the PDA in SFZ3. The first is a training mode, where you pick your fighter and train him, playing through minigames and teaching him special moves. The second is battling against other fighters, linking up two PDAs via infrared connection. If you win, you also take one of your opponents' special moves. Characters in the PDA version of SFZ3 include Ryu, Ken, Karin, Chun-Li, and Zangief.
The second game is Theme Aquarium, another game in the Theme series from Electronic Arts. In this one you can raise your very own aquatic animal and then transfer it to the PlayStation to use in the game.
We'll have more on the PocketStation tomorrow in our Tokyo Game Show coverage. Stay tuned.
