PC Dark Souls Steam Migration Delayed
PC Dark Souls Steam Migration Delayed-October 2024
Oct 24, 2024 8:24 PM

Bandai Namco needs a little more time to finalize the migration process of Dark Souls from Games for Windows Live to Steam, and has thus pushed back the completion date to next month. Writing on the Dark Souls Steam page, Namco says the migration of PC game saves and achievements should now be finalized in December, not November as was previously planned.

"We are working hard to finalize the process to move your Dark Souls: Prepare to Die saves and achievements to Steam," the company said. "We need to conduct additional testing and we are now targeting December to begin this process. We'll have more information in the coming weeks. Thank you very much for your patience!"

In October, Bandai Namco announced that gamers could move their copy of Dark Souls--along with progress and achievements--from Games for Windows Live to Steam for free. Check out our previous story for full details on how the migration process will work.

In other Dark Souls news, Bandai Namco and From Software made the surprise announcement this week that Dark Souls II is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in April 2015. The package will be called Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, and it will also be available on PC.
