Paul Levesque Wants To Create More Moments Like Brock Lesnar On A Tractor
Paul Levesque Wants To Create More Moments Like Brock Lesnar On A Tractor-November 2024
Nov 19, 2024 10:50 PM

Now that Paul "Triple H" Levesque has stepped into the role of leading creative at WWE after Vince McMahon has stepped down from the company, there have already been some changes--including returning wrestlers. However, during a recent WWE investor call, Levesque explained there's more to come.

Speaking with investors--and anyone else on the call--Levesque discussed his return to the company and what fans can expect in the upcoming months. "I have the good fortune to work in WWE for 30 years, whether on screen at the office, in the writer's room, or at the performance center and many of those, at the same time, whatever the opportunity was available, I always took it," Levesque said during the call. "I always wanted to learn the behind the scenes, the 'why' we did what we did. So I could apply those learnings and become the best talent I could possibly be. In my new role leading creative and talent, it comes with a great responsibility, but I am incredibly confident that we have the right team in place to succeed. More to that mission is orchestrating storylines and creative that appeals to our existing fans and helps us grow the WWE universe along the way. It's early days, but we believe that you've seen some initial signs of this positive momentum at Summerslam last month."

The July PPV happened a little more than a week after McMahon stepped down from WWE. The summer premium live event (PLE)--formerly known as PPV--had plenty of surprise moments. And this included one of the company's biggest stars and farming equipment, which you can see in the video above. "Brock Lesnar drove a front loader out during his entrance, and at one point in the match, he picked up the ring with the tractor and raised his 15 feet in the air, which sent his opponent Roman Reigns tumbling to the floor and as I've mentioned, I've been in this business for a long time. I've seen a lot, but I've never seen anything like [what] took place that night at Summerslam."

"Within 48 hours alone, we want to continue to create these moments and memories that will last a lifetime," Levesque continued. "And we will get there by writing compelling storylines for the most intriguing characters. And then on top of that, developing new talent. Talent is an area with this company has a renewed focus."

Levesque mentioned trending No. 1 on Twitter for Summerslam because of the tractor moment, but WWE, as of late, has been lacking those watercooler moments prior to the event. Memorable moments don't have to be over-the-top like someone lifting a wrestling ring with a tractor, but there needs to be moments people will remember forever, like Levesque said.

WWE's next PLE is Clash at the Castle on Saturday, September 3. This will be the first major stadium event in the UK in 30 years. It will take place at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. That means UK fans will finally be able to watch a WWE event during the evening and not in the middle of the night.

GameSpot will be covering Clash at the Castle, so make sure to come back on September 3 for live coverage beginning at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.
