Officials in Paraguay announced that they seized a shipment of counterfeit Nintendo software and joysticks on July 10, a cache of goodies that added up to US$1 million in pirated merchandise.
This is the second biggest bust in the country in a month, and officials said yesterday that they believed the products were produced in Taiwan and were on the way to Latin America and other regions.
According to Reuters, Nintendo would not comment on the parties involved but is considering its legal options.
Nintendo claims that pirated video game software and hardware sold around the world cost the company $810 million in potential sales.
